Izo FitzRoy’s latest album, ‘How The Mighty Fall’ has already had a huge impact in the world of funk, soul and blues and has proved to be a favourite for tastemakers across the industry.
Her distinctive vocals and songwriting have meant she is in high demand with the cream of electronic producers and a prime candidate for remixing.
The latest producer to have his say on ‘How The Mighty Fall’ is drum and bass titan Dr Meaker with his remix of the album’s lead single ‘Red Line’. The prolific producer hailing from Bristol has previously teamed up with the respected V Recordings imprint for a trio of BBC1Xtra playlisted hits, as well as huge releases on RAM records and Souped Up. His combination of soul-infused euphoria and dirty jump-up drops makes him the perfect candidate to maximise Izo’s voice.
Lush emotive strings kick off the track and perfectly complement Izo’s vocals before a drop that would make The Grand Canyon blush.
Powerful soul vocals and heavy dance music has always made for a chart-topping combination. The contrast here of raw emotion and the filthy (yep, filthy!) sound-design has been mastered to perfection and sounds more like an original than a remix, proving why they are both powerhouses in their genre.
For the radio folks amongst us, or fans who prefer to get straight to it, the remix comes with a streamlined radio version as part of the package.
