Izo FitzRoy’s album ‘A Good Woman’ was a tour de force, her stunning vocal elegance and engaging lyrical talking points standing atop a vibrant blend of timeless soul, classic R&B and vigorous funk.

‘Body of Mine’ was recorded during sessions for ‘A Good Woman’, but it was reluctantly left off the final album as it has a very different mood to the rest of the record. Switching between gritty soul and a sweet falsetto, Izo’s voice is again undeniable as she explores the vices and thrills of substances - what feels good in the moment so often isn’t what’s best for you in the long-term. The song’s luscious instrumentation, super smooth production and pop-leaning jazzy tones was inspired by Burt Bacharach, and ‘Body of Mine’ took on a greater emotional resonance after one of the music’s all-time greats passed away earlier this year
